MDM Rubicon, Inc. (MDM) operates 18 residential sites (group homes) in the Woodbury/Oakdale area, serving individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and conscientious individual with leadership capabilities to join our team as a Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP).  The LDSP will oversee all aspects of operation including the Direct Support Professionals (DSP) at the assigned site, the service recipients, and site related needs.


Current Openings (*Subject to change):

Lead Direct Support Professional: $15.00/hour

  •  CW2 (40 hrs) Mon, Thur & Fri 8:30a-4:30p; Tue 12:00p-8:00p; E/O weekend 12:00p-8:00p 

Responsibilities of the Lead DSP include, but not limited to:

Staff Supervision:

  • Completing all responsibilities associated with the DSP position
  • Provide role modeling, coaching and on-the-job training for DSPs
  • Provide leadership to staff members and apprise management of all performance issues
  • Oversee the DSPs' task completion, training & documentation, reporting concerns to the supervisor
  • Communicate challenges with staffing and/or service recipients' issues to management
  • Assist with staffing coordination

Site Supervision:

  • Oversee the creation and proper maintenance of service recipient records and log notes
  • Maintaining day-to-day oversight of each home's finances, including safeguarding the debit card, obtaining receipts for all purchases, and ensuring verification of all purchases
  • Oversee and coordinate purchases of food, household items, and expenditures associated with service recipients' activities
  • Ensure the licensing readiness of each home, including cleanliness, maintaining good repair, and safety of the environment; will coordinate household maintenance requests when necessary
  • Assure proper administration of medications, including documentation & handling new prescriptions

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the completion of service recipient programming, activities, etc.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding service recipient programming adding new, modifying or eliminating
  • Communicate with service recipients' team members effectively
  • Coordinate health and mental healthcare appointments and services for the service recipients


  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Criminal background clearance from applicable licensing agencies as required (including, but not limited to): DHS, BCA, and OIG
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Safe and reliable vehicle to use for community outings
  • Current vehicle insurance meeting minimum requirements to drive in Minnesota
  • Relevant experience in the field, minimum of 6 months
  • Good time management skills


  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field
  • Lead staff/supervisory experience
